I know this is way past the elections but I just now stumbled across your blog and this really resonates with me. :) I understand how you felt. Would you be comfortable if I were to quote this in one of my posts? Either way, thanks for writing this. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5661543079761030690.post-44172333478096096272012-11-08T20:07:50.369-08:002012-11-08T20:07:50.369-08:00So true. Thank God for the peace I've been giving about having to grow up in this country. The future definitely doesn't look very bright-until I remember that God is still holding our nation in His wise, all-powerful hands...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10625636055010156025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5661543079761030690.post-69204449934642588282012-11-07T16:00:21.567-08:002012-11-07T16:00:21.567-08:00AMEN sister. I felt like crying when I watched Ohi...AMEN sister. I felt like crying when I watched Ohio turn blue on the TV, and to be perfectly honest with you, I felt like blowing up at God for one second. But then I thought, "Who am I to even think I know better than the God who created the universe, the God who holds ALL things in His hands, the God whose ways are higher than our ways and whose thoughts are higher than our thoughts?" And even though I still don't understand and the election results are crushing, I can trust that He has a plan. Even though the state of Washington approved gay marriage, signed on another Democrat governor, and legalized marijuana, and it's tearing my heart apart to see this beloved country go downhill, I will trust God. Because who am I without Him? It's shattering, this election. Ripping past hope into shreds and painting the country in a blue so chilling that my optimism turns to ice. But because of the warmth of God's presence and sovereignty and comfort in this catastrophe of a world, we can live and breath and continue to live again. Anyways. My thoughts on this. (: And another thing, I'm so glad we have the freedom to vote. Even if we didn't see what we wanted to happen, we still had the freedom to be heard and I'm grateful for that.
